While it’s true that businesses come and businesses go, when a local institution or local treasure is lost, we all mourn. That’s what this page, “Historical Mentions (Now Closed)” is about: those local Portland dive bars that we visited and loved, but that are now permanently closed and out of business. They still deserve to be remembered, and we’ll keep them here for posterity.
